Scraps of Darkness Reveal *December Kit*

This is the new "Winter's Eve" kit for December from Scraps of Darkness.  It withholds the elegant Bo Bunny Enchanted, Glitz Beautiful Dreamer and some festive Creative Imaginations Winter Song papers.  There are so many wonderful embellies to drool over, you can create so many different themed los.

This is the stunning monthly sketch by Suepup.

Here is my take on the sketch.  I love the purple against the black, so I did keep that theme.  I flipped the sketch around though.  I saw this sketch as very romantic so I scrapped a photo of my parents at their wedding in 1960 cutting the cake, which holds the title "Our Cake".  I mixed some Creative Imaginations papers with one from Bo Bunny.

This chandelier is Dusty Attic (Romance add-on) that I misted with some of Lindy's mist (Color add-on) and added some Zva crystals to from a previous kit.

The angel is a Bo Bunny trinket (Romance add-on).  I made a tear and laced it up to add interest.

Here is another romantic page, with a photo of me.  I used a ton of the Bo Bunny Enchanted line.  Using a lot of the chipboard, papers and a trinket.  I titled this page "Tender".  I felt like it showed the soft, and romantic side of me.  Sep 2011

Those roses are Prima (Flora & Fauna add-on) surrounded by the BB chipboard.  The black lace (main kit) is tucked in the tear.

The bird is a BB chipboard.  The pearl is Webesters (main kit).  I did a lot of paper rolling for these scroll like designs.

Scraps of Darkness & Punky Scraps ~ X-mas Morning

Merry Christmas everyone!  This is Punky Scraps Challenge 36 for the month of December.  This cute little bear is supposed to help you get inspired with the Christmas mood.
This very cool sketch was designed by Natalie MacDonald.

As there is only one challenge we will incorporate all three of our monthly challenges into one!!

You have your picture above for the Christmas cheer, the sketch below for inspiration and the twist is to Get Picky using at least ONE of the following:
* corrugated cardboard*
*stamping*
*paint*
*misting*
*stars*
*ribbon*

Well comparing to Halloween, I obviously don't scrap Christmas los that much lol.  But with this Punky Scraps Challenge 36, it was easy enough to do, but in a funky way.  I found some not so great Christmas photos, that weren't really good for using on a single picture lo, but fabulous to cut apart to create a mosaic design with.   And these funky pics worked perfectly with my hippie/funky "Purple Haze", November kit, from Scraps of Darkness.  I did some bubble wrap stamping with gesso on my Bo Bunny Garden Girl, Basic Grey Indie Bloom and Glitz Dance in Sunshine papers, after layering them up.  I also painted those peace sign brads (main kit) black adding them on the borders for  more interest and funk.  The Christmas lights ribbon is a broken necklace from my junk stash.  These are my kids on Christmas morning in 2009.

Those Tim Holtz stars came from my stash, which I misted and added some gesso and ink to.  The Magic tag (main kit) was misted and inked as well.
The smaller photos are of my Christmas tree and bows from opened presents.

Scraps of Darkness *Nov Kit* ~ You Make Me Happy

Sorry it has been awhile, but things have been hectic in my real world, one thing after another.  It is nice to escape to my passion, and get a break.  So here is a page I made using the fabulous lovely "Purple Haze" kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I used a Stuck on U Sketch by Page Maps to make this warm and happy page of my oldest daughter, Jasmine in April 2011.
I liked this cute Prima nest (Romance add-on) to fulfill the nature theme I have going on, coming from the photo up in a tree.  The owl die cut (main kit) also seemed to fit in perfectly, surrounded by some Dusty Attic mushrooms from my stash.  I colored them using some Lindy's Magicals.
These Indie Bloom flowers (main kit) are from Basic Grey which are very fun and just pop off the page.  The title is a Bo Bunny Garden Girl rub on (Romance add-on).

Scraps of Darkness *Nov Kit* ~ Bride of Darkness

This page was made to share for team 3 week 1, Round Robin challenge over at Scraps of Darkness.  I used the gorgeous Purple Haze kit that holds lots of beauty and some groovy style.  I wanted to bring the darkness out of this kit, so I did some altering, inking/misting to make this romantic dark page.  I used Bo Bunny's Garden Girl and Fabscraps' High Tea Music papers.  The doily came from a pie package which I inked it up.  This is me on Halloween 2011.

Those bottles and cross are Dusty Attic and came from my stash.
The Prima vine (Flora & Fauna add-on) was misted to a darker color.  I used some tulle from a previous kit behind my lacing.  The black flowers came from the SOD shoppe.

Scraps of Darkness Reveal *November Kit*

"Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running round
Butterflies and zebras
And moonbeams and fairy tales
That's all she ever thinks about...
Riding with the wind."
- Jimi Hendrix

This is the very lovely and groovy Purple Haze kit from Scraps of Darkness.  It withholds a bounty of beauty and fun.  The new Bo Bunny Garden Girl line is part of this impressive kit with some of  the new Basic Grey Indie Bloom line.  Don't forget the new Coordinating Paper add-on which holds some of the Glitz Design Dance In Sunshine and Fabscraps High Tea papers.

Here is Suepup's vibrant and gorgeous sketch for this month.
And this is my take on her sketch.  I went for the romantic approach, throwing in some stitching, lots of bling and lots of love.  I used Fabscraps High Tea Garden Party, Quick Quotes  Julie Je t'aime: 400 and Glitz Dance in the Sunshine Birds papers (Coordinating Paper add-on) to make this purple dream.  This is my dh and I in Jan 2011.  I titled this page "Together".
These gorgeous Prima hearts (Romance add-on) are hard to resist.  I wanted them to join as one to show a connection of love.  I cut apart the Zva crystals (main kit) to even out the balance on the page.
I added these purple Zva crystal dots (Romance add-on) everywhere lol.  I added some gesso here and there because my page needed something more, placing a dot in the middle of each blotch.  I laced up my heart border punch.

As Mistress of Mayhem (yup, my new title over at SOD), I have some new duties and will only be posting this one page today.  But keep on the lookout for more to come!!!!!

Scraps of Darkness & Sketches: Creatively Yours ~ Howl o ween

Another great DT sketch to share with you from Sketches: Creatively Yours.  This 22-11 sketch was drawn by Alison MacDonald.  With the journaling strip on the right side, and the space for 3 photos, I knew what paper to use and who's photos to scrap.   Come see what the rest of the DT designed over at our blog or on Facebook.
Here are my fur babies!  They slightly dressed up for Halloween, because they removed parts of their costumes when I wasn't looking lol.  I used my October, All Hallows Eve kit from Scraps of Darkness, to make this cute page.  This is Angel and K-Oz in October 2011.
I misted the flowers and leaves for a more darker appearance.  The tag is G-45, Halloween in Wonderland collection, from SOD's shoppe.
I cut the Kasiercraft 13th Hour acetate shape to put in the corner.

Scraps of Darkness & Sketches: Creatively Yours ~ Haunt

Here is another brand new fun sketch (21-11) created by our senior designer,Ann Seleshanko, from Sketches: Creatively Yours.  Please come by and see the amazing creations the DT has created.  You can find us on Facebook too.

Since I saw this sketch as fun,  I wanted to scrap my kids having a good time.  Using my fabulous October, All Hallows Eve, kit from Scraps of Darkness, I was able to make this page, mainly using the Oct 31 line of Fancy Pants papers.  These are my kids Trick or Treating in 2010.
The screen door is a Scrapmatt chippie (Romance add-on) that I painted with black gesso and misted over it with some of the Hermit the Frog Shimmerz Paint (Color add-on).  The Prima flowers (Flora & Fauna add-on) were inked a bit.
Those cute pumpkins are Dusty Attic and came  from my stash.   Those bottles came from the Moxxie Midnight Dreary paper.  The clocks are Kasiercraft 13th Hour acetate shapes (main kit).

Scraps of Darkness *Oct Kit* ~ Razzor

 Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!

This was DT page was created using my most favorite kit ever, the All Hallows Eve kit, from Scraps of Darkness.  I made this Goth page for team 3's Round Robin challenge over at SOD and to share it in the Darkest Side Challenge too for the macabre theme.  The title is part of my dh's username for his online games.
I made the big cross by hand, tore some bloody strips of paper and used some creepy cloth for texture.

This is my dh in Nov 2009.  He did the bg in photoshop.
The cross, chain, creepy cloth  and gargoyles came from my stash, but made perfect embellies for this theme.  I stapled the corners of the picture for more masculinity.  The bottle caps came from a previous kit.
Those Prima leaves were painted black.  With the original orange glitter still highlighting them.  The orange Kaisercraft rhinestones were colored with a black sharpie.  The strips of dominoes are 13th Hour rub ons from Kasiercraft.  This was my first time cutting my photo into strips...I like the way it turned out.

Scraps of Darkness & Sketches: Creatively Yours ~ Love's Triangle

Here is a new sketch (20-11) by Alison MacDonald from Sketches: Creatively Yours.  I saw this sketch as a triangle with the way the photos are drawn up.  So I got creative and flipped some things around.  I hope you come by our blog and see what the rest of the DT has made.  We are on Facebook too!!!

Keeping the triangle in mind, I came up with this dark romantic theme using the characters from Red Riding Hood.  Of course no other kit would work as perfectly as the All Hallows Eve, October, kit from Scraps of Darkness to create the look I achieved here.  I loved how these images were made to be placed in this triangle.  Inside the heart I used a scallop dot punch, showing off the scallops from the top of the sketch.  The Prima vine (Romance add on) is there as the strip that was at the bottom of the sketch.  I used a Kasiercraft 13th Hour Acetate clock (main kit) in place of the journal.

I colored the flowers and lace using some Smooch and alcohol ink.  This lacing technique is Kay.Lori's spider  lacing.
Those Kasiercraft rhinestones (main kit) were orange, and I used a black Sharpie to make them dark.  The frame on this image is a Pink Paislee Phantom clear frame (main kit).

Scraps of Darkness *Oct Kit* ~ Trick r Treat

I think I am really addicted to this All Hallows Eve kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I just love all the darkness I can create with.  I made this page for both Renea's Stalker Challenge (where we needed to use her arch templates, chipboard, paper bag and an image) and for the Horror Movie Contest to share.  This movie is not one of my faves, but I like this little monster and all the different H-ween stories this movie tells.

Behind the title is another image I printed from the movie.  Creepy!!  I layered a 13th Hour acetate shape from Kaisercraft (main kit) and a Moxxie Midnight Dreary punch out (Romance add on) with the image.  I brought the burlap out of the character's image on to the page.
Here is one of the 2 arches I used.  I saw them as tombstones, and made them so.  I used some of the Molten Metal Enamelz from Shimmerz (Color add on) to give the gravestones more of a stone look.  The pumpkins are cut out from some Moxxie paper.  I used the edge of a paper bag as part of the ground.  The raven is DA, I got from SOD's shoppe.

Scraps of Darkness & Punky Scraps ~ Haunted Eyes

It is time to get "Picky" with Punky Scraps for challenge #32.  This round, team A picked this list for us on team B.  You only need to use 2 or more of these pickys to play along:
Tamara - Hessian/Mesh
Kat - A Tag
Cheryl - steam punk imagery
Kerry - your own handwriting
Marie - black mist
Jolanda - a picture of your eye (s). what do they say/mean to you?
Celina - lace of any kind
Ashley - Doodling
Misty - metal

I tried to use all 9 but the black mist and doodles didn't really show up.  It was really fun making this page though.  I like how it turned out, all mystical and punky.  I used my all time favorite October, All Hallows Eve, kit from Scraps of Darkness.  Most of my other DT pages have been really dark from this kit.  This one shows quite a bit of color.   Mandy (craftysprinkles) was awesome to edit my photo and really make my eyes stand out, thank you girl!  My journal says:  Haunted by my own dreams.  Sep 2011.  This has to do with the nightmares I have.  I dream every time I sleep, and it is difficult to know what is a dream and what is real, and most of those dreams aren't nice ones at all.
The glitter title is from the SOD shoppe.  The tag is from the Moxxie Midnight Dreary punch outs (Romance add-on).
I used the Pink Paislee Phantom clear frames (main kit) for over my eye.  The gears are cut outs from Graphic 45, I got from a previous kit.  The metal moon is from my stash.

Now on to the reveal!!!

Here is the extraordinary All Hallows Eve kit.  It is packed with Moxxie Midnight Dreary, Fancy Pants Oct 31 and Authentique Glowing papers.  Those creepy trees are Scrapmatts.  And there are tons of transparencies to play with from Pink Paislee Phantom and Kaisercraft 13th Hour collections.  Don't forget our huge selection of add-ons.  Come see for yourself!!  www.scrapsofdarkness.com

Here is the nothing short of spectacular sketch Suepup made for us to use with this totally awesome All Hallows' Eve kit.
When I saw this kit I was immediately in love.  You all know how much I love Halloween and the Gothic style, so this kit screamed to me!!!  I hardly slept or cleaned my house for days because I had such a love affair with this amazing box of jewels.
This is my take on the sketch called "Frightful".  That awesome Kaisercraft 13th Hour die cut paper caught my eye right away and made for an interesting circular shape from the sketch.  I love lots of the Moxxie Midnight Dreary papers and punch outs, all scary of course.  Everything you see here was from the kit and add-ons.  I had to make a page showing off my kids in costume with some of our crazy H-ween decorations. Oct 2010.
The bird is a Kasiercraft acetate shape (main kit).  I used the brown vine ribbon (Romance add-on) to wrap around the Moxxie punch out gate (Romance add-on).
I treated the Scrapmatt chipboard tree (main kit) with some black gesso and Shimmerz Enamelz Molten Metal (Color add-on).  The flowers are a mix of Petaloo and Prima (Flora & Fauna add-on).  The skull card is Pink Paislee (Romance add-on) that I distressed dramatically.

This page was made to share for the Halloween Horror Movie Contest over at SOD.  We are to scrap our favorite scary movie.  And I chose, "Amityville Horror" with Ryan Reynolds.  This movie is excellent!!  Very scary, great acting and the story is based on true events....love it!!!

I used a Moxxie Midnight Dreary paper for the creepy bg and went with its design to come up with my scenic creepy page. I framed it with some Authentique Glowing papers and punched cardstock.

These clouds are DA from my stash.  I painted them with white gesso, then inked over them with Ingvild Bolme's new Prima Black Coal Ink (main kit).  The Scrapmatt tree (main kit) was treated with some Lindy's mist and inked over as well.  I used the La Blanche stamp (Color add-on) in the corner.  More Kasiercraft acetates (main kit) used here for layering.
This Scrapmatt screen door (Romance add-on) is so cool.  I used some Glimmer Glaze to paint it then touched it up with some TH Rusty Hinge ink.  The DA gate came from the SOD shoppe, I painted it with black gesso and went over it with the Rusty Hinge ink.  The tombstones came from another Moxxie paper, that I glued with 3-D dots.  The webs are from a used dryer sheet.
I made this page for Lisa's Scrap that Title Challenge over at SOD to share.  The title is "Soulless".  I thought long and hard about this one.  And figured nothing could be more soulless than an abandoned cemetery.

I just bought some cheese cloth and felt like the texture would give an eerie feeling to this page.  I used more Moxxie Midnight Dreary papers with an Authentique Glowing paper.
This is Mandy's gorgeous pin (Romance add-on) for this month.  With some Petaloo (Flora & Fauna add-on) and Pink Paislee flowers (Romance add-on).
I got this Scrapmatt chippie from the SOD shoppe.
Here is my 4th page.  This was made for me to share with you, the new Pandora's Box tutorial feature from SOD on how to make a layout (located at the bottom of this post is the video).  I thought I would share something original and creepy looking, adding  some lacing I love to put to some of my pages.  I titled this"All Hallows Eve" to represent the kit.  I used some Fancy Pants Oct 31, Pink Paislee  Phantom and Authentique Glowing papers to create this wicked bg.  This is my dh and I on H-ween in 2009.

Those bottles were cut out from a Moxxie Midnight Dreary paper.
This beautiful bat vine is Prima (Floura & Fauna add-on).  I added some small Petaloo flowers (main kit) on it.  Those black flowers are Petaloo (Floura & Fauna add-on) as well.  the leaves are Prima (Flora & Fauna add-on).

Here is the Scraps of Darkness, Pandora's Box tutorial on how to make my "All Hallows Eve" page.  Please feel free to go to the top of my blog to push pause on the playlist so it doesn't interfere with the music from the video.  Enjoy!!!!
