Scraps of Darkness *July Kit* ~ It's the Life

And now we continue with some more DT on the adventure to the far east with this exquisite Marrakesh Express kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I used the new #230 sketch from Sketch Inspiration for this design, but I did switch it up a bit.  I once again used some more of my photos from the shoot I took at a local park.  My kids in April 2011.

I used some of the butterflies that my fellow DT member provided for all of us to use....thanks!!!  This kit came with a lot of die cuts, I used here, layering them up.  Plus I did some fussy cutting to add to those layers.

Munchkin ~ Scraps of Darkness

I can't get enough of this limited edition, "Over the Rainbow" kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I adore these papers so much, and love using them with some of my vintage photos as well as adding a little steampunk to the page.  for this page I used sketch #229 from Sketch Inspiration.  This is my dad in 1942, he looks just like a Munchkin to me, from the movie.

 I used quite a bit of older embellies from previous kits.  The green flower, G45 papers and thick chipboard tag came in this kit.

Scraps of Darkness *May Kit* ~ Spirit

I can't get enough making DT pages with this Now and Zen kit, so here is another page using this Asian themed kit from http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/. I used sketch #221 from http://www.sketchinspiration.ning.com/ I thought the doilies that came in this kit matched perfectly with the circles from the sketch. This is Jasmine in April 2011. She is sitting on what seems to be a tribal circle at our local park.

The birds in the cage and journaling are all rub ons. I added some moss (from an older kit) with the bird on the bamboo stick. The big Prima flower came from SOD, and the rest of the flowers were from my stash.

Here are the different layers, and a stamp I used for the date. I hand stitched around the page.

Here is another page made from the Now and Zen kit from http://scrapsofdarkness.com/. I really loved all the unique beauty this kit had to offer. I was inspired by Sketch #220 from http://sketchinspiration.ning.com/, so this is the page I created by using it. My dad just recently got married, and this is his new wife. May 2011

These flowers came from my stash, mainly all from the dollar store. I used some Prima rub ons that came in the kit for the fan's decorations.

I love these Prima trinkets. I attached them to this DA frame. I misted the crane with a Starburst mist that came in the color add on. I hand stitched around the whole page.

Howdy Partner ~ Scraps of Darkness

Another page from the Foundations kit from SOD. I can't get enough of these awesome papers and unique embellies. For this page I used sketch #216 from Sketch Inspiration. I added some more layers and made this into a masculine cowboy page. This is my husband and his dad back in 1986.

I tried making tumble weeds out of the moss. I roughed up the edges to the TH alpha stickers. All the clocks I used were all semi circles, perfect for tucking them behind.

I tried making a lasso around this journal tag.

A DA piece from an older kit. I punched some holes to use the reinforcers I love.

Beat the Heat

This was made using a sketch (#214) from Sketch Inspiration. I was so out of my comfort zone with this very colorful and cutesy page, it took me forever. Mandy Harrell helped me out with this photo, by lightening it up, thanks girl! Journal: Andrew's first time swimming! This is the look he gave the whole time...so serious! It was in July 2005, when it was 126 outside. The pool was so warm.

A Step Back in Time ~ Scraps of Darkness

Here is the new kit called Foundations for April!! And I love these Bo Bunny papers!! I just couldn't wait. And the burlap came in this kit which tickled me pink!! I have wanted burlap forever and finally got a nice sized piece of it. This page is based on a sketch (#213)over at Sketch Inspiration. This is my mom and I in April 2007. I miss her so much!!!!

This is the page I came up with. I used the November Rain kit from SOD and a Sketch Inspiration #212 sketch to create this page. These are my girls in June 2010.
