Scraps of Darkness *Mar Kit* ~ Discovery of Unusual Oddities

First of all, I wanted to let you know that there is a DT call for SOD and SOE.  Please stop by the SOD blog for details.

This is the gorgeous and amazing sketch by Suepup that comes in the new March, "Needful Things", kit from Scraps of Darkness.  This kit is full of the new Graphic 45 Old Curiosity Shoppe Collection, SEI Field Notes Collection, Fab Scraps chipboard and tons of other wonderful items.  Plus, don't forget about those add-ons.
This is my take on the sketch.  I saw these papers, which reminded me of a vintage laboratory.   I took this photo at Disneyland while we walked through Tarzan's Tree house in Dec 2011.

Those medicine bottles and microscope were part of the main kit.  I put a couple of  G45 chippie tags on the clip, to hang and dangle.

The beaded flourishes are from Zva.  The flowers are by Petaloo.  The stickers are more of the G45 collection.

The Vow ~ Punky Scraps & Scraps of Elegance

It is another day for another fabulous Punky Scraps Challenge.  This is the Get Picky challenge #45.    Out of the list of picky items you can choose 3 or more, and here is the list Team A came up with for us:

Kat- Kraft cardstock
Marie- a photo of yourself
Kerry- 3 of something
Jolanda- Masking and something Red
Cheryl W- something metal
Celina- something lucky
Misty- fabric
Ashley- green paint
Kim- something pleated
Mandy- stitching- handmade or faux

To make this page, using all the picky except for the kraft card stock, I used the "Butterfly Dreams "kit from Scraps of Elegance.  My dh and I took these pics on our anniversary at the movie theater, when we went to see "The Vow". There are 3 buttons and also 3 leaves. I did some brick wall masking and used some red mist among many other colors. The brads have metal frames. My lucky piece is the date, itself on the ticket stubs, Feb 29th, 2012 (our 2nd anniversary of 8 years). For the fabric I used cheesecloth which I misted. There is a lot of different types and shades of green paint throughout this page. The film strip is pleated. Fortunately, I was lucky, this Bo Bunny paper came with faux stitching already. So there you have it!!! I did so much painting, misting, inking, stamping, etc...it all just started to blur together. This is something quite unique/different for me. I think I really came out of the box for this one.

Here is the pleated TH film strip ribbon.  I did some weaving with lots of different strips of scrap papers.

I liked how my edge punching came out.  I punched, making sure it wasn't perfect, just for a different effect.  The flower is from Scrapmatts and was painted with Lindy's magicals, just like the black boarder of the page.

Funny Guy ~ Scraps of Darkness & Punky Scraps

This is challenge #44 from Punky Scraps, called "Sketchy Sketch".  This design was created by Marie Mison.

This is my take on the sketch.  I made this page using some different kit papers from Scraps of Darkness. I love creating masculine pages. It is so much fun rummaging through small items in the house to find embellishments for a boy's lo. My favorite place is the toolbox, that's where I found the silver washers :) I got those dog tags from my son's room, maybe they were from new shoes/some piece of new clothing. Anyway, they were discarded onto the floor so they became mine lol. I got a small chain to tie them together and used those silver washers to cover the holes I punched in the paper. The bottle caps have metal stars inside, smothered in mod podge. I did some stamping, misting and inking to distress this page some more. Mixing up different pattern papers is also a lot of fun to make it more masculine, guys usually never wear anything that matches ;)  This is Andrew acting like a normal silly boy at our animal park in Nov 2011.  Jasmine is there in the background.

Scraps of Darkness & Punky Scraps ~ Only Time

This is Challenge 43 over at Punky Scraps.  How does this shoe inspire you?  The colors, skulls, flowers or the shoe itself?

For me, it was the shoe and the flowers.  It brought out a romantic side,  rather than the punky side of me, so I went with it.  I specifically did a photo shoot of my dh and I on our 2nd Anniversary of 8 years (we got married on Feb 29th), focusing on our shoes for this challenge.  Photo taken on Feb 29, 2012.  I used the February "Victoriana" kit from Scraps of Darkness to make this romantic page.  I used a lot of Prima's Printery papers, some Prima flowers and canvas butterflies.  The old lace screen print is by Hambly.

I did some fussy cutting, layers, distressing, misting, masking and inking.  Trying to show off some steampunk elements as well.  The pin is by Craftysprinkles (Romance add-on).

Those vintage gems are brads.  The scallops are part of a die cut by Kaisercraft.
