Scraps of Darkness *Feb Kit* ~ LOVE

So you know when you come up with a great design and are so proud of yourself for doing so??  Well that is what I first believed when I thought of this design.  But subconsciously this has been in the back of my mind for awhile.  This design is so creative and beautiful, it embedded a place deep in my brain to make me think I thought of this lol.  But all the credit goes to 2dogs and her page called "A Big Love".

I used the amazing February "Victoriana" kit from Scraps of Darkness to make this page celebrating our 2nd anniversary of 8 years.  Yes, we were married on Feb 29th.  These photos were taken in Nov 2011.
I used the Prima Printery papers over the TH grunge board alphas.  I did some fussy cutting to add detail.
The black lace is a screen print, I used to tuck in my tears.  The butterflies are metal.

Scraps of Darkness & Sketches: Creatively Yours ~ Seaside Holidays

Here is an amazing fun sketch (6-12) from Sketches: Creatively Yours.  Alison MacDonald drew this summery dream.  Please join us over at the S:CY blog!!!
I would like you to know this will be last page as a DT member for S:CY.   My term is over and it has been so much fun, but it is time for a break!!!  Thank you for your support!
Here is what I created using the sketch with my January "Escape" kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I saw Ali's sketch that looked like a boat around some waves, so I hunted for this photo of me and my parents in Cape Cod's Long Pond in 1994.  I figured this photo and kit were perfect for the sketch.
The fish came from the Pink Paislee Nantucket papers.  The seaweed and starfish are also from that line.  I added some Prima bling as bubbles.  I used the rest of the netting all bunched at the bottom for some texture.
Those shells are all stickers from my stash.  I used a few journal cards which are Authentique Harmony tabloids.

Scraps of Darkness Reveal *Febuary Kit*

I am so excited to share this new reveal with you from Scraps of Darkness.  This kit is called "Victoriana"...and it is super lovely.  It is very romantic with a great vintage feel .  It withholds Prima's Printery papers and Kaisercraft's Madame Boutique's collection.  There are some fabulous Prima Resist Canvas shapes & flowers, some Zva pearls and much more, in the main kit alone!!!  Don't forget to take a look at the awesome add-ons.
This is the gorgeous monthly sketch by Suepup.
I created this page using the sketch.  I found these mix of papers to be versatile enough to make them into somewhat of a masculine page, in order to scrap Andrew's baby pics.  Since he is just a baby, I figured it would be okay to add lots of flowers and pearls.  Andrew was only 3 months old here in 2005.  I titled this page "Sweet Baby Boy" using letters from the Prima Printery paper.
These Zva pearls and that Vintaj brass key both came in the Romance add-on.  I did some layering behind the photo using the Printery papers.

The spoon and fly are both Prima's resistant canvas...different and unique shapes, but totally cool for a baby boy page.

Scraps of Darkness *Jan Kit* ~ Harmony

I made this for an example of the new Skeletons in Your Closet challenge over at Scraps of Darkness.  This rounds prompt is People Pleasing....do you or don't you??  I am a massage therapist, so it naturally happens, I try my best to please people.  I don't like it when someone is upset or when there is conflict, so I automatically try to make peace and make everyone happy.  I have been a floor mat most of my life, never saying no, but I am getting better with that word :)  I created this page using the January "Escape" kit.   I got this image of a candle with stones, since they are tools I use in massage.

This framed chipboard is by Dusty Attic and available in the SOD shoppe.  I painted it gold and used a script stamp over it.  That beautiful butterfly is made by Renea and came in the Flora & Fauna add-on.  The gold flowers, bamboo sticks, and rhinestones are from previous kits.

The metal leaves were a sweet gift from Bexta76...thank you!!

Scraps of Darkness & Sketches: Creatively Yours ~ Poolside Diva

This is sketch 4-12 from Sketches: Creatively Yours.  Ann Seleshanko, our senior designer, designed this beauty.  I hope you get the chance to come by and see what the rest of the DT created.
Here is what I made using the sketch.  I used the tropical, January "Escape" kit from Scraps of Darkness.  I was really drawn to those 3 long rectangles in the bg.  So I really put in some details with them, lacing and using some other embellishes.  This is my mom with curlers in her hair right by the side of the pool...somewhere I can always remember her.  This was taken in 1973.
These flowers tucked into the laced up rectangles are Mini Canterbury Petaloo flowers.  I put some tulle behind them and added some Tim Holtz tags to tie off the string.
I cut apart the Prima Crystal Star Burst putting some pieces here and there.  The large flower is also Prima.  The chip board tickets are Graphic 45.  The pretty stick pin is by Craftysprinkles (romance add-on).
